Solar and batteries in Blacktown
Blacktown is a big council area: established suburbs, new release estates in the north-west, and large warehouse precincts. We work on the houses and on the warehouses.
Homes in the new release suburbs
In areas like Schofields, Marsden Park, Riverstone and Kellyville Ridge, you're likely to be looking at a recently built two-storey home on a smaller lot. That has some practical effects:
- Roof faces are often split. Two or three smaller planes facing different directions can still work well, and spread output over the day, but the layout needs to be designed rather than copied from a standard package.
- Check what the builder installed. If solar came with the house, find the inverter model before you ask for a battery quote.
- Two storeys mean more installation labour. Access and safety equipment are part of the job, and a good quote should show that.
- Think about the future. If you're planning an electric vehicle, include that in the sizing conversation.
Established suburbs: Blacktown, Seven Hills, Mount Druitt, Rooty Hill
Older homes tend to be single-storey brick with tile roofs, and many have a switchboard that predates solar and batteries. Before we quote a battery, we check the switchboard and the meter, since an old board sometimes needs work first. Some homes already have solar from years ago, so the same questions apply about whether the inverter can take a battery. Our guide to what solar and batteries cost lists the things that move a price, including switchboard work.
Warehouses and factories: Eastern Creek, Huntingwood, Arndell Park, Marsden Park
Blacktown's industrial areas have a lot of large, flat, low-pitch roofs and sites that run in the daytime. That's a good starting point for commercial solar. Typical things we ask:
- How old is the roof, and when is it likely to be replaced?
- Do you own the building, or lease it, and for how long?
- What's your daytime load, and do you have interval data from your meter?
- Do you want to buy the system, or would a PPA with no upfront cost suit you better?
NSW lists a Batteries for businesses incentive from 1 September 2026 for batteries of 20 kWh and up, covered in our rebates guide.
Network: Endeavour Energy
Blacktown is in the Endeavour Energy area (Endeavour lists the Blacktown council area), and Endeavour describes the north-west and south-west land release areas as growth areas for its network. Endeavour assesses and approves the connection for each system, and for large commercial systems this takes longer and involves more information than for a house.
Blacktown questions
Who installs the solar if my new home is in a Blacktown estate?
You can choose. If the builder offers a package, compare it with a quote designed around your usage and roof. Ask which inverter it includes and whether it can take a battery.
Can I add a battery to solar the builder installed?
Usually, but it depends on the inverter. Send us the model number and we'll tell you what's needed.
Is my roof big enough for solar on a small lot?
Most roofs can fit a useful system. We check the layout from satellite imagery, and a visit if needed, before we quote.
Do you do solar for Blacktown warehouses and factories?
Yes. We install commercial solar and batteries, and offer PPAs for eligible businesses across Greater Sydney.
